All The Free Stuff at The Bozeman Public Library

I've noticed some people commenting recently on how libraries are slowly becoming obsolete with the internet, cell phones, etc. While I still value the books in the library, there is an incredible amount of other services, some of which you may not know about. Read on for a list of all the amazing, free stuff at the Bozeman Public Library.
  • Free computer use: The 2nd floor has a Computer Help Desk where you can borrow a Mac (with Adobe Creative Suite), a laptop or use a computer for long periods. Don't forget to bring a photo ID.
  • Black and white printing is $0.10 a page. You can print from your own computer using the Print from Anywhere service too.
  • Fax/Copy/Scan. Scanning is free.
  • Free test proctoring services. This is potentially a creative, money saving way to take any entrance exams you may need.
  • Meeting rooms, including some very large spaces you can use for free for any events that are free and open to the public. You can reserve a meeting space by calling (406) 582-2427.
  • Bookmobile: Check out the schedule for the traveling library and some fun events here: https://www.bozemanlibrary.org/services/bookmobile
  • Free passes to local attractions: You can get into the American Computer Museum, Bozeman Swim Center, Children's Museum of Bozeman, Hallatin History Museum and Museum of the Rockies for free through the library! What?! Next time you're at the library, go to the Information Desk and ask about free passes. You can also get passes using your library card here: http://www.eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=BOZEMAN&curApp=passes
  • Movies: If you can handle waiting a couple months after movies hit Redbox, you can borrow a lot of movies for free at the library.
  • Kindle books and Audiobooks: You can borrow a ton of eBooks and audiobooks for free with your library card here: https://montana.overdrive.com/
  • Free music streaming: https://bozemanlibrary.freegalmusic.com/home
  • Free access to Lynda.com: https://www.bozemanlibrary.org/elibrary/learning/lynda-com
    • Awesome free skill development courses
  • Free database access: https://www.bozemanlibrary.org/elibrary/research/databases-a-z
    • Includes news, ancestry, auto repair, academic databases and more
